Autumn

The
click
and stir
of yellow
butterflies dancing
on deep green holly shrubs, reminds
me of branches lifting, flaring in red-bronze delight
from a line of swaying beech trees, as leaves of last week formed eddies, swirling rich color
near my feet, as if showing me their skills in mixing
shades of red, gold and lemon paint.
Now I'll be content.
Summer's gone
sun's time
well
done.
