Three Tchaikovsky Poems
1. Tchaikovsky Time

Time
to
listen.
Tchaikovsky's
not a honey trap –
Hollywood added the sugar.
Stop sneering at heroes – maybe they're braver than you.
Time to step out of your adolescent clothing, that black leather jerkin fools no one.
Zipped up under there, somewhere, beats a warm Russian heart.
You will find it in the music.
Don't let it scare you.
Tchaikovsky
will hold
your
hand.
