branch
after
it falls from
its home and lies in
oblivion, it gets stepped on,
and on, and on, and on by countless moving giants.
Screaming inaudibly for help, for attention, it
bears the pain over and over,
with almost no shown
sympathy
until
it
is
gone
somehow,
it being
the pain... or the branch.
