And No Salmon Swim

Caught
Skinned
On a
Bloody hook
Scales ripped, revealing
Flesh, orange, with tainted colors.
Permanence broken, our thermometer reads blood red
And now our rivers burn with metallic tastes, iron seeps from veins to river waters
All of this, our toxins running, because today the river is a salmon, because today the river is orange. And no salmon swim.
