Bio


Francesca Castaño lives and works in Barcelona. She is a Spaniard who writes in English. Her Master's thesis was published by the University of Barcelona, in February 2010. Bird shells and Sirens

We walk fast through the station's crowd trying to catch a train that's beginning to whistle. We sit by the window and the wheels rush under our feet like a river down a mountain. Wagons sliding down dark tunnels, grinding on the brakes against a curb; emerging safe; gliding past honey meadows and dreamy farms hidden among dingy towns with ugly factories that writhe under the pressure of capital's demands. However, we try to forget, for a moment, and languidly recline in the speeding compartment, blending in with the flying trees outside.
