Insecurity

(ovillejo)

I am like a prickly pear.
I don't dare
expose my core. I deceive, lie,
leave my
sentiments behind this steeled
spiny shield.
Until I'm lovingly revealed,
my heart, exuberant and lush,
emerging in a rosy blush,
I don't dare leave my spiny shield.
