Preeti Shah
Tango Class
she took my newborn fingers
her hand a nest
the other etching messages
against the bark of my back
swaying all of my branches
my shoulders power lines
parallel to hers
electricity
this moment
the season of apple picking
my vagrant gaze catching
this crisp mouth of fall
a ritual of language begins
between a rooted tree
and a freed bird flying
body and soul.
