Kenneth N. Margolin
The Crosswalk
Between these yellow lines,
The promise of safety
Retreats before the distraction, impatience, the rage
Of my neighbor, who on the street would wish me well,
Then behind his car's tinted glass,
Succumbs to a darkness he does not understand.
Bio
I am a retired attorney, father of two adult daughters, and live with my wife Judith, in Newton, Massachusetts. My publications include articles in professional journals, monographs, a book chapter on Facilitated Communication, and a journalistic essay in Sport Literate Magazine. My short fiction has been published in PIF online magazine, Peeking Cat Poetry Journal, Short Fiction Break, Evening Street Review, and Twenty-Two Twenty-Eight. I hope to add poetry to my writing, and thought to begin with a short poem.
