KB Ballentine
What I Think About #2
The microscopic quartz, mollusk shells, basalt that fashion a grain of sand
Your shoulders, strong and reassuring as I lean against you
Your hands, calloused fingertips and palms, their touch against my feet
The hair that peeks from your shirt collar, from the top of your jeans
Clouds whisking, whipping afternoon sky, sun a speck over the mountains
Two freckles on the back of your earlobe, how good they taste
Your breath on the back of my neck, your lips caressing my skin
The light in your eyes, your smile when I enter the room
