Karen Neuberg
Not Quite Ready
I aged into an overripe
then into a rough sketch
then into a dotted-swiss dirndl
and finally into this hewn
tiny house, all windows looking out
at skies of infinite continuation
I'm not quite ready to step into
but have my walking sandals
by the door where I can see
my first childhood
already coming toward me.
