Fishing For My Father
maybe it was the glint
breaking surface
the fish skin silver
an electric filament
or a thought
and outline of a plot
the catch of a story
filleted from the sport
maybe it was escape
his unfinished self
the call of the sea
the river wilds and lakes
or life's nervous twitch
the line suddenly tense
the reel of fate turning
in his finger tips
