Born in Rome to American/Australian parents, Marisa is a graduate of Curtin University, she moved to Christchurch, New Zealand from Australia in 2003. She is a visual artist and poet.

Frisson of feet in fourth position
and the open gown colonizing
a bend in the elbow.

Defenceless flesh blooms
from silk the schema

of stance,
feet turned out
hip hinged back
coquette gaze
licked lips.

The audacious engagement,
I love him his
prosperity and confidence.
