we women
sit around a worn oak tablecoming and going
each one one at a time
we collect togetherlittle things
tears from failed relationships
newborn baby's breath
when anguish
reaches with outstretched arms
we are
for one another

Bio
Karen Hubbard is a Professor of Biology at The City College of New York who lives in West Orange, New Jersey. In addition to her love of science, she shares this passion with poetry. She has published poetry in Promethean, Amelia, Maultrommel (Dusseldorf, Germany) and the Austin Downtown Arts Magazine. She has published a small chapbook entitled "Rain".
