Edytta A. Wojnar
To Aging Well
To praise a cabbage soup, hands
that chopped the woven leaves then chose
the right amount of fennel seeds.
To sit on a park bench
sunlight on your forehead erasing
shadows from its furrows.
To tell a spouse to put
down the carried load
carelessly picked up years ago.
To wish his former lover
happiness. To do it
before leaving.
