Born and raised in Northern Ireland. I studied English literature at the University of Glasgow. I now live and work in South Korea.

So far, I've only ever written in a personal capacity. Poetry helps me solve, if only for a short time, the puzzle of my own being in the world around me. This is my first real attempt to get anything out there so I hope someone somewhere enjoys it.

Spring

The roots wake and the night cuts the string.
It folds and drifts away like a kite.
Further we go into the day.
Developing, growing, standing up.
The green coagulates.
Strong colours stand.
The blood comes.
Life itself.
Extensions of the physical senses.
It's a time to sense.
Words mean nothing.
