I gave up my son, one knot
my fingers failed to complete;
Mary never forgave me,
her mouth a hard cherry pit.
Take the long coat she told me,
for the chill.
Bio
Alicia Cole lives with a photographer and a bevy of animals. Over their house, egrets and great blue herons fly. She has a penchant for birding, blackberries, and walking through brambles.
