Dead By Tomorrow

If tonight I sleep and be dead by tomorrow,
ocean of mourners' arrival.
My ears be deaf to their wails,
my eyes be blind to their plays.

Gone young still they shall utter,
gone overripe I shall, for old age
a matter of experience and not by the count of numbers.
Many too black days for me,
yet, young still they shall utter.

If I be dead tomorrow,
wail not for the departure of a cub
but for that of a lion,
for blacker days are mine even
more than yours!
