Shannon Curtin
Recycled
If we could collect
the bobby pins of time we've lost
in waiting rooms and check-out lines,
in mandatory work trainings
and 1-800 holding patterns,
in bad dinner dates, and traffic jams;
if we could bag it up and turn it in
for a few more seconds
of blurry starshine encrusted memories,
summer breezes on sun kissed knees,
or just one more vision of the way
your eyes crinkle when you laugh,
I'd be the first volunteer
to don ugly overalls
and pick up life's litter,
a nanosecond at a time.
