Searching for Adventures

I
left
my six
smart-ass kids
at home, then roamed the
bustling souks of Cairo and walked
the streets of Krakow searching for my lost relatives.

Then
blew
up a
gangster's car.
Nerves frazzled, I sipped
bush tea in Botswana, where I
learned secrets of a ladies' detective agency.

I
trekked
desert
sands with a
madman who promised
to take me safely to Dakar.
Came home to the daily slog, dirty dishes, mutt thick

with
fleas
hubby
glued to the
TV. Who needs this?
I'm heading for the library
back to the stacks to search for new places to explore.
