Running

He
is
running
as usual -
anonymously
pounding familiar hometown streets.
This forlorn middle-aged man is too odd to ignore
when his blinkered intensity
darkens the landscape.
Who is he?
No one
is
sure

at
eight
a.m.
every day
his ritual begins.
He circles the town for an hour
with a grey sleeveless vest on his emaciated chest,
shorts too short for long hairless legs
practically naked,
his white skin
shining
with
sweat.

Bio

After a career making Arts Programmes as a producer/director and executive producer for British, American, Japanese and European broadcasters, wolfiewolfgang (aka Colin Bell), gave up television to concentrate on writing. He has published three children's stories (Novello's), film reviews (Mansized, the biggest men's health online website) and poetry in The Blotter, Shot Glass Journal and the Fib Review in the United States as well as articles for the Buxton Opera Festival. His flash fiction has been performed by White Rabbit Theatre in London and he is a Writers' Village Best Writers' Award winner. With a novel and a half behind him, he writes poetry, flash fiction and short stories. He lives in Lewes, East Sussex, England and also writes a daily blog and other reviews as wolfiewolfgang on his website http://www.wolfiewolfgang.com
