Formerly a producer-director of arts documentaries and then Executive Producer, Music and Arts, for Granada Television, he made arts programmes for ITV, BBC, Channel Four, and for broadcasters in the USA (WNET and Disney), in Japan (NHK) and Germany (WDR). His debut poetry collection Remembering Blue was published in 2019 by Ward Wood Publishing. His second poetry collection, Brief Encounters - 100 Fibs, will put together one hundred of his Fibonacci poems, all previously published in the Fib Review. It is due to be published soon by Ward Wood Publishing. He has two published novels: Stephen Dearsley's Summer of Love (Ward Wood Publishing, 2013) long-listed for the Polari Prize 2014. Blue Notes, Still Frames, (Ward Wood Publishing, 2016). His third novel, Over the Hills is a Long Way Off, is scheduled to be published by Ward Wood in 2020. In 2020 he was made the American publisher, Muse-Pie Press' Featured International Poet and his poetry has been twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
