Inheritance

I
turned
me from
the shuffle
of the cards, and am
my parents, mixed half and half. No
need to evoke ghosts, calling to them on needy nights,
when I can address the spirits hosted in each cell
and speak to them, feel them alive,
part of the present
echoing
back to
the
past.
